Victoria L White is an experienced business and commercial litigation attorney with over thirty years of active practice in California. She performs a wide range of business litigation in state and federal court, including intellectual property, finance, banking, labor and employment, insurance and securities matters. Ms. White prosecutes and defends patent infringement, trademark and copyright litigation, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and privacy matters. Ms. White directs complex commercial litigation including unfair competition, breach of fiduciary duty, partnership and corporate governance litigation. She represents individuals and corporations in contract disputes, creditors’ rights matters and claims of commercial fraud involving commercial lending issues, business torts and unfair business practices.
Ms. White effectively advises international and domestic businesses on a wide range of corporate management and governance issues, from formation of corporate entities to minority investments, acquisitions and capital markets. She counsels clients on securities reporting requirements under state and federal law, officer and director liability matters and financial institutions regulatory compliance. She represents clients in prosecuting and defending claims arising out of mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings of securities, investor fraud and disclosure obligations. Ms. White developes and implements intellectual property policies and procedures, including the strategic enforcement of patent rights, international patent rights management and venture capital matters.
Ms. White has supported the successful resolution of numerous trials such a record setting award for a securities broker against a major investment banking firm. She directed the successful defense of a publicly-traded media company in a securities offering case. Ms. White has actively contributed to trial victories including the prosecution of an international securities and banking fraud case, and the prosecution of a case against a U.S. bank regarding international trade practices. Ms. White was also involved in the successful defense of a publicly-traded pharmaceutical company in a shareholder derivative action regarding directors’ and officers’ duties. Ms. White has diligently represented banks and financial institutions in regulatory matters before the Federal Reserve board, Department of Financial Institutions and the New York State Banking Department. She has represented public companies in a wide varienty of SEC reviews and investigations, as well as New York Stock Exchange and NASD arbitrations. She has successfully defended companies in class actions involving labor and employment issues.
